[[[Later that night, Lilli sits up in bed, and Richard sits nearby undressing.]]]
RICHARD: She’s gonna teach me how to “mezerka.” As soon as I get it right, I’ll show you.
LILLI: You lied to me.
RICHARD: When did I lie to you?
LILLI: You told me once, that you’d never hurt me.
RICHARD: (concerned) How did I hurt you?
LILLI: You always stare at her, it hurts me.
RICHARD: I’m sorry. It’s just that she’s so different.
LILLI: In what way?
RICHARD: Well just look at her. The way she’s all covered up.
LILLI: (harsh) But you said you found all those clothes stupid and unnecessary!
RICHARD: I do. It‘s just. . . I wonder what she looks like underneath all of them.
LILLI: You mean, you want to look at her, because you can’t see her?
[[[He climbs over next to her and takes her hand, playing with it.]]]
RICHARD: You remember when I wanted to go to the north side of the island just because I couldn’t?
LILLI: Yes I do.
[[[She takes her hand away and turns to him sharply.]]]
LILLI: (harsh) And I also remember what almost happened to you when you DID go! Goodnight, Richard.
[[[She lays down and turns away from him. After a moment, he lays down and stares at the ceiling.]]]
